SALA 2026 Family and Friends

Supported by the Community Foundation

Art is a wonderful way to tackle isolation and loneliness by giving people of different backgrounds a shared opportunity to express themselves.

That’s why bringing butterflies together into combined artworks seemed the perfect fit for this year’s SALA program, proudly supported by the Southern Cross Care Community Foundation.

While each butterfly is different, together they form collective artworks that reflect belonging and community and work towards the Community Foundation's goal of ending loneliness and isolation.

The SALA Program

Together at the Torrens shows what individual members of a community can achieve when they come together to connect.

This year’s artists include Residential Care residents and their families, Respite Care clients and their carers, and members of the ICreate social art class who crafted the butterflies in a series of workshops promoting connection.

In particular, the workshops brought together many families for a unique experience that was heartwarming, fun and memorable.
