The best decision delivers

Riverpoint Retirement Estate’s very first residents can’t believe they’re celebrating the estate’s 10th Anniversary, and said they wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

Graeme and Barbara Louise were the first residents to move in, on the same date as Riverpoint officially opened, 4 August 2011, and said they had many great memories.

“We’ve made great friends here, the maintenance-free part is great too and the community centre is a big bonus,” Graeme said.

“We’ve had all sorts of events like New Years Eve parties, lunches etc...and I play table tennis 4 times a week and Barb used to play lawn bowls up until recently.”

They joined close to 100 fellow residents in celebrating the milestone on Friday 19 November, and said it will be a day to remember. The all-day celebration was held at the site’s Community Centre and across the estate, including a morning tea with an anniversary cake, lunch, drinks and a fashion parade.

Riverpoint opened in 2011 and comprises 107 two and three-bedroom homes. It is located in an area of natural beauty of wetlands and sandhills at the mouth of the Noarlunga River, and features expanses of samphire, saltbush, sedges, and a huge array of bird species.

Trevor and Jennifer Young moved in on 5 August 2011, and said they’ve enjoyed many benefits of living in a vibrant community like Riverpoint.

“Well it’s a big decision for anyone to make but everyone here says this is what was best for them,” Jennifer said.

“We love the fact that the villas are independent and it was the best decision we made.”
