Denise Drysdale delights at the Age Well Expo
From singing duets to health hustles, the Age Well Expo 2022 had many highlights that Harold Collins will never forget.
The Riverside at Goolwa Retirement Living resident was fortunate enough to sing along to the 1961 hit, Hey Paula, with Age Well Keynote Speaker, Denise Drysdale.
“I had a singing lesson from Denise and it made my day,” Harold said.
“I also got a photo with her after and that will be a keepsake forever…and it was so good to see someone you recognise from TV.”
“She’s a brilliant entertainer, but I kept thinking - how did she remember all those jokes? I’ve had a really good day and I checked out the stallholders twice.”
Harold was part of a strong crowd that enjoyed presentations from guest speakers including Southern Cross Care Group Manager - Health & Fitness, Dr Tim Henwood, who talked about the importance of exercise for older adults.
Other speakers included Adelaide TechGuy, Richard Pascoe, who spoke about how to stay safe online, Expo Gold Sponsor Aidacare, Southern Cross Care Dietitian, Bonnie Sanderson, and the Commonwealth Bank. Guests also explored a range of stalls, providing them with everything they need to help them age well.
This was the fourth installment of the expo, which aims to provide health education and improve health literacy for older adults.
The expo was founded and is run by Southern Cross Care, a not-for-profit that has been providing quality aged care and retirement living services to members of our community for more than 50 years. This event was also sponsored by Aidacare (Gold Sponsor), HUR Australia (Silver Sponsor), Lynch Meyer Lawyers (Bronze Sponsors) and RAA (Bronze Sponsors).
