Marvellous day at McCracken

Marvellous day at McCracken

Southern Cross Care was proud to officially open its 15th Residential Care Health & Wellness Centre at McCracken Views Residential Care on Tuesday 30 January.

The new centre will help us to deliver our healthy ageing approach across South Australia and the Northern Territory, with the centre featuring the latest NuStep exercise equipment.

Around 50 people attended as we heard from McCracken resident Charles Savarton who spoke about how he’s benefited from the centre.

“I like coming here, and my movement has improved a lot. I’ve been using the NuStep walker and the Parallel Bars and my walking has improved the last 12 months quite substantially.

“When I first came I was only able to walk a few metres, but now I can walk up and down the hallways. It’s wonderful.

“I would recommend that others come in and join me. Once you get started, you get motivated and you want to do more,” said Charles.

Southern Cross Care CEO David Moran, and McCracken resident Pat Collins, cut the ribbon to make the opening official, and David said it was a great day for McCracken residents, and for Southern Cross Care.”

“We have an organisation-wide focus on promoting quality of life for all residents. We provide healthy ageing interventions, support their physical health, and help them to maintain their social relationships, psychological and spiritual wellbeing.

“This centre, and our others just like it, demonstrates our commitment to the health and wellness of every single person in the Southern Cross Care community.”
