Rising to a better standard of Retirement Living

Rising to a better standard of Retirement Living

Mount Barker’s finest retirement estate, Oakfield Rise, was officially launched on Thursday, 8 March in an electrifying and colourful display.

Over 120 guests attended the much-anticipated launch, transforming Auchendarroch House into a hub of excitement. Students from local school, St Francis de Sales College, illuminated the room with their musical talents.

Our host, South Australian TV icon Mark Aiston, warmed the crowd with his charisma and charm. Guests were also drawn to a larger than life Stilt Walker, Sweetie, who entertained all.

Mark spoke about the rapidly growing Retirement Living market, which already offers over 2,000 retirement villages across the nation representing about 140,000 homes, with a further 40,000 under development. Southern Cross Care CEO David Moran was proud to unveil Oakfield Rise to the crowd.

The development is worth over $70 million, with stage one offering 22 single-level independent retirement villas with 5 different designs. After just two weeks it’s clear that demand for the villas is strong. Many reservations and deposits have already been placed for these stunning properties. Stage one is the first of a much larger development that will be built over nine stages and will feature 180 villas.

Mr Moran also spoke about the unique features that will make Oakfield Rise an important part of the Mount Barker community. “Future stages will include a community centre to be built with Stage three, subject to sales. It will be a hub of social activities with features to include a café, gym, games room, bar and lounge area, just to name a few,” Mr Moran said. “The construction of a public walking and bike path from Hawthorn Road to Dumas Street will also provide the perfect pathway for you to remain connected to the local community.”
