Social Committee shines on a night to remember
Every retirement village needs a strong, active social calendar.
Pearl Retirement Resort’s recent Greek Night truly exemplified this spirit, thanks in no small part to the incredible efforts of the Social Committee.
Like most Southern Cross Care retirement communities, the Social Committee is the beating drum of activities that keeps the village alive with fun, frivolity and laughs.
The recent event at Pearl Retirement Resort in Darwin was a resounding success, bringing together approximately 60 residents for an evening filled with amazing food, lively entertainment, and excellent camaraderie.
This event, like many other events throughout the year, adds to the many reasons why residents see value in living in communities like Pearl.
The Social Committee's meticulous planning ensured every detail was perfect.
A tremendous commendation goes to Brian, a long term committee member, for preparing the delicious main course of souvla and Greek salad, which was so popular that many returned for additional servings.
The Greek desserts - homemade galaktoboureko and fresh baklava, sourced from a "caterer extraordinaire", were nothing short of heavenly, providing a perfect conclusion to a fantastic meal.
The community also thanked Bill, who served as master of ceremonies and musical maestro for the evening.
His exceptional curation of the Greek dance and music, displayed on screen, effectively set the ambiance and ensured continuous entertainment for all attendees – another testament to the Social Committee's thoughtful organisation.
The Social Committee’s diligent efforts in fostering an environment where residents could gather to share food and friendship were evident and deeply appreciated by all.
It was truly a memorable night that perfectly captured the vibrant community spirit within Pearl, all made possible by the dedication of residents.
