Southern Cross Care wins UDIA National Award
Southern Cross Care is honoured and humbled that its integrated retirement living and aged care development Carmelite, in Adelaide’s Eastern Suburbs was announced yesterday as the winner of the Seniors Living Award in the 2020 UDIA Wingate National Awards for Excellence.
“We are absolutely thrilled,” says CEO David Moran.
“Southern Cross Care’s tag-line is ‘Better for life’ and the Carmelite project was designed to live up to that motto and expectation.”
It is the unique combination of retirement living, residential aged care, community health and wellness services, a café and other high-quality community facilities in one building that make Carmelite such a successful development and such a vibrant community.
UDIA judges commented that “Carmelite’s design of a 5 level, vertically integrated retirement living and a residential aged care facility has allowed Southern Cross (Care) to follow an “Ageing in Place” philosophy.”
Judges also noted that the Southern Cross Care development team and partners had successfully addressed difficult site constraints to create a visually striking development that “allow(s) residents to enjoy both city and coastal vistas and its attractive eastern suburbs location.”
Southern Cross Care would like to thank the UDIA and its judges and sponsors, acknowledge the other outstanding finalists for this prestigious award, and thank its staff, development partners and the Carmelite residents and clients who have made this vibrant community what it is today.
