A taste of Spain!

A taste of Spain

Recently, the Lourdes Valley Social Group, organised a “Paella night” at The Waterford, Myrtle Bank.

Paella, recognised by many as Spain’s national dish, is a delicious combination of chicken, chorizo sausage, onion, rice and various herbs.

It is slowly cooked in a large oval shaped dish. “The Paella Man”, actually “men”, Real and Elan, setup their huge dish right outside the dining room entrance, allowing residents the opportunity to watch the cooking process which took about an hour.

The aroma was absolutely mouth-watering. About seventy residents sat down to a most delicious meal which was then followed by churros, a type of long donut, rolled in sugar and cinnamon and

drizzled with chocolate.

Needless to say, a great evening for all the residents. Olé! Olé!
