Southern Cross Care’s small and dedicated Home Care team in Victoria is delivering not only compassionate care but is also driven by a person-centred approach.

 Home Care Manager Victoria, Janet Sung said her team is passionate about providing person-centred care.

Janet said there are several key ways the team provides quality person-centred care. 

The first is their responsiveness to clients and family members - clients feel supported and listened to because the Home Care team addresses their concerns and requests in a timely manner. 

Staff are also qualified, with ongoing training and education for carers to encourage career development and enhance their ability to respond to changes in clients’ health or other circumstances. 

This training leads to quality care as staff can identify clients’ changing needs early on and adapt their care accordingly. 

The team focuses on Support at Home, so also has extensive knowledge of the services included and excluded, as well as how to achieve the most holistic care possible for clients with the funding they have available.

 “We are able to provide accurate information to the clients on what can be covered. This saves time on going back and forth,” Janet explained. 

“We also have a great relationship with our external providers such as Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.”
