Our new CareCar Program

Our new CareCar Program will support older people in our community who face financial hardship. (A trial program will commence in early 2018 and on successful completion we hope to roll out further during the year).

We understand attending important appointments such as a doctor’s visit is harder for older people, whether it’s because friends and family are not available or they do not have the finances to use a taxi or uber, but your support can help provide a unique answer to this predicament.
 

The solution is simple – a car funded by the Southern Cross Care Community Foundation will be driven by SCC volunteers to take older people to their important appointments for a small nominal fee.

The program is rewarding for our volunteers who know they’re providing invaluable assistance, and for the people in our care, who have peace of mind knowing there’s someone there to help.

How to make your booking

To book a ride with the Care Car service, please call 7132 4805 or send an email to bookings@southerncrosscare.com.au with the following information;

• your full name and phone number

• pick-up date, time and location

• your requested destination

• details of any requested return rides.
