On The Road With Southern Cross Care And Altaira

Staffing agency Altaira has come on board as a sponsor of the Southern Cross Care bus program.

Many older people find themselves with limited means for getting out and about as they are no longer able to drive, public transport is not accessible and they have no other means of transportation available. 

That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be able to engage in outings that boost their well-being, such as a scenic drive, a day at the beach, or attending a community event with friends. 

This is why the Southern Cross Care bus program was created. 

Similar to the Care Car program, which Altaira has also sponsored since 2020, the bus program ensures residents are still able to have a sense of social connection and feel supported to access their community in a safe and comfortable manner.

With a recently expanded bus fleet, the program operates all across metro Adelaide, the Hills and the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Director of Altaira, Jelena Giro, congratulated the Southern Cross Care team for offering such an important program.

Southern Cross Care Group Manager - Marketing and Community Engagement, Peter Ferguson, said Altaira’s support was key to keeping the buses and Care Cars on the road.
