Southern Cross Care Games

Running concurrently with the Tokyo games, Southern Cross Care Residential Care homes held their own opening ceremonies for the SCC Games. Torches were carried - at a distance - through each wing of the homes so everyone could participate despite COVID restrictions. 

Week one has been so successful, one site had over 40 residents participate and had to run 'heats' to maintain social distancing! Some of the events have been so popular they will be added to the monthly activities calendars. The bigger goal has provided some extra motivation and inspires some residents to come to the gym consistently so their scores are recorded. 

The atmosphere is very lively and the Over 90's and Under 90's groups alike are loving the challenge & bringing out their competitive sides.
