Simple steps to leaving a legacy with Southern Cross Care

Step 1: Determine your estate wishes. Once you have calculated the value of your estate make a list of loved ones and organisations you would like to leave money, property or possessions to. At this stage, should you wish, please contact the Southern Cross Care Community Foundation for a confidential discussion.

Step 2: Appoint executors. Appoint one or more Executors to carry out the terms of the Will. This can be a relative, friend or legal adviser.

Step 3: Create or update your Will. A Will is a legal document and should be prepared with the assistance of a trusted legal advisor or trustee.  If you have chosen to leave a gift to Southern Cross Care, please use our suggested wording below.

Step 4: Safely store your Will. Make sure your Will is stored in a safe place and that someone you trust knows where it is. It’s also important to make a copy of your Will for your own records. Your legal adviser will often store your original Will free of charge.
